HOW THIS WORKS
*attendance numbers may vary by local health authorities
If mass gatherings of 100 (for example) are allowed, we have structured 2 separate events. The 5km would start at 9am. The 10km will start at 10:30am.
With a limited # of spots available , you will provide us with your estimated start time. We place you in groups of 20, with waves every 2 minutes. Fastest athletes go first.
START TIME/ARRIVAL
Do not arrive at the start/finish area more than 30 minutes before your start time. All times will be posted on the website, and emailed to everyone by Friday evening.
MASK USE
Staff will be wearing masks when in close contact with athletes.
Athletes are recommended to wear a mask at the start/finish area, but it is not necessary during the race itself. Please bring a mask for times when you might not be able to properly distance yourself from one another.
In order to host this event, we are following provincial and city guidelines for the health and safety of the general public. Runners assume the risk inherent in public gatherings.
RACE COURSE
KNOW YOUR COURSE. The course will be marked with flagging, signage and pylons. DO NOT expect volunteers. Review your course map, run the route in advance, and add the route to your fitness app to keep you on course!
Overtaking is allowed. Please avoid grouping/clustering during the race. Keep a safe distance of 2m. The course is wide enough and with the spaced wave starts, we can avoid clustering.
WATER STATIONS
This is a cup free event. Though the race will have aid stations, runners will need to bring their own form of hydration container to refill.
There will be a water station at the finishline for the 5k/all athletes, and a mid-course water station for the 10k event.
Bottled water will be available at this station to pickup, fill your container, and continue along the route.
FINISHLINE
There will be no finish line festivities/awards. Please depart after you have completed the event.
COVID QUESTIONNAIRE
Please print out and complete the waiver (to be included in your athlete guide) on race morning and bring it with you. If you have answered yes to any of the questions, please do not attend.
